A Special Thanks to Eric who found this mistake which we promptly fixed:

"I'm in the process of building the Christmas Story House and I seemed to have found a mistake in the "Key Image" that shows all of the lines and how they are to be folded and cut. In the largest section of the roof there are to lines that are green which is mountain fold when they should actually be blue and valley folded. I have attached an image with red arrows pointing to the lines I'm referring to. I just thought you guys would like to know in case no one else has brought it to your attention. Thanks so much by the way for creating this model. This movie has always been a family favorite and now we'll have a model of the house to display every year.

A Christmas Story House Paper Model

Earlier this year our family got together and we all went to Cleveland, Ohio to visit the house from our favorite holiday movie "A Christmas Story".

First thing you notice when you get there is that it is located in an ordinary neighborhood! We paid for parking in a small vacant lot ($5.00), but we later saw there was free parking on the street. You will recognize the house right away, you almost expect Ralphie to be playing in the yard.

There is an interesting guided tour of the house. Then you are allowed to roam free through the house. There are lots of fun photo opportunities. You can pose with the 1950's furniture and the famous leg lamp that was considered a “major award” in the movie. Pose wearing the famous bunny hat or Ralphies bomber hat. Stand next to the decorated Christmas tree holding the Red Rider BB gun from the movie. Don't shoot your eye out!

There is also a museum that you can visit for free! Inside the Christmas Story House museum you will find lots of artifacts and costumes from the movie. You will also find the guy who delivered the Leg Lamp to the lucky family! He evidently still lives in the neighborhood! He has lots of stories and trivia about the making of the movie.

There is a souvenir shop with everything you can imagine in the "A Christmas Story" theme.

If you are a fan of the movie I recommend a visit to the Christmas Story House if you ever are in or near Cleveland, Ohio. It is a lot of Christmas fun!

While we were there we took lots of photos and I was inspired to design this paper model for all to print out and build for free.

Taking creative liberty I added some of the loveable characters from the movie in the windows; see if you can identify all of them!
